Hallie Grace Update

I am officially 27 weeks and 3 days pregnant!  13 more weeks to go!  Hallie Grace is moving a lot more these days!  I can lay on my back and see her moving along my belly.  I'm still feeling pretty good, and the past few days I've been a little more tired than usual.  But, I think it may have something to do with the end of school being very, very close and I'm wearing down!!
Matt hung the curtains in the nursery, and on Saturday morning we made a trip down to Conway to look for a dresser.  White dressers are hard to come by, but after going to about 3 different places, and then eating lunch, we went to one last place where we found the perfect fit!  So, new curtains, new dresser, new hairbows, and a few new outfits!  :)  We love this baby so much!!

Each drawer came with a colored panel.  We have the option to keep each drawer white, or to put a panel on, so I think we like this look.  We can add more panels, or remove them and make the whole thing white.  We are just playing around with our options.

Children's Place was having a pretty good sale!  I may have a shopping problem!! :)

Girls Weekend

Since Kindergarten, I have grown up with the same group of girls.  We went to school and played sports together our whole lives!  We have all been through so much together, including being a part of each others weddings.  It is a special group to be a part of, and we are all still friends today.
Because we all live in different places, it is difficult with everyone's busy schedules to get together.  Last year 3 of us got married, so we saw a lot of each other;  but, this year there isn't really anything bringing us together, so Ashley planned a little reunion at her house.  We all met up Saturday afternoon and spent the night together catching up, playing games, and just enjoying the time we had to be together.  We never were able to get a group picture, but here are some pics of the night.

First Baby Shower!!

After school today, the wonderful teachers that I work with threw me my first baby shower!  It was a blast and we received some really nice gifts!  I love the ladies I work with and they went above and beyond for me and Hallie Grace. Here are some pictures of the gifts, as well as from the shower.  Ashley came to the shower too, and I'm so thankful she was there!  Thanks Ash!

Girly Jungle, just like her room!

This is Meredith, our Librarian's daughter.  She was my helper!

Some of the crew

I help a 5th grade class with Math, and they made me a money tree with dollar bills!  It was so sweet and thoughtful of them, and I love those kids so much!

This blanket contains clear pockets where pictures can be put into the "Family Tree."

Trish's grandma made this.

Me and the Money Tree.  Who said money doesn't grow on trees???

The wonderful ladies I work with!

Trish and Me.. She put the shower together.  She is such a wonderful, generous person.

All of Hallie Grace's sweet gifts! She got some cute outfits, diapers, shoes, socks, blankets, a book, and a stuffed monkey.  I'm so grateful for the staff I have had the chance to work with this semester. As you can see, they are wonderful people!

Yard Work

Matt made the sweetest comment the other day.  He told our neighbor that he wanted to get the yard cleaned up because he wanted to make sure that when Hallie Grace is big enough to play outside, the yard is nice and free of messy weeds where snakes can hide.  He loves hard work, and he is trying so hard to make our yard nicer!  Man, I'm lucky to have such a handy-man!  He worked very hard this weekend and made some nice progress. We still have a ways to go and a lot planned, but it's going to look great when finished.
This was before...We laid rocks as the flowerbed border.  We are getting rid of the fountain and planting a Purpleleaf Sand Cherry Bush and placing a couple of Sungold Threadbranch Cypress shrubs around it.

Right now we're working on the left side

Matt replaced the rocks with black, humped border.  We like it a lot better!

We added ferns to the porch, and we are planting 3 Wintergreen Boxwoods along the front and 2 Sky Pencil Japanese Holly shrubs on each side of the walkway leading to the doorway.

I will post pictures when they're all planted, and maybe the picture will be a better explanation of what I can give!

The Room is Finished, but Not Complete!

We are officially finished painting and putting up the chair rail.  It looks great!!  The crib is up, toy chest is in place, and our next buy is going to be a dresser.  But, that can wait for a little while.  When I say the room is finished, I mean that we have all of basics done!  We still lack decor and of course, the baby!!  :)

Bows, Bows, Bows!

We don't know if Hallie Grace will be born with a head full of hair, or no hair at all; but, one thing is for certain.....She is going to have plenty of bows!!!!  My love for bows probably comes from my mom because she used to always put big bows in our hair as little girls.  Since she probably won't have a lot of hair to start out with, I bought these colorful headbands that wrap around her head and then the hair bow is clipped on the band.  So cute!  A girl can't have enough bows, and this little girl is going to have tons!! :)

This is what the bow looks like on the headband

I also got some gerber daisy flowers.  Love them!

25 weeks and 4 days  My kids at school have been saying, "you're getting bigger Mrs. Miller!"

Funny Story

Friday night we got the baby bed put together and set up in the room exactly where we want it!  Well, Matt immediately said that he HAD to go to Wal-Mart and buy a mattress for it.  He was SO SO excited!  I mentioned to him before he left that I wanted the bedding for the crib as well because I just can't wait to see what it will look like.  I SAID THIS, NOT WANTING HIM TO GO AND BUY BEDDING, but because I was just saying in general that I couldn't wait.

About 45 minutes later, my lovely Matt comes back with not only the mattress, BUT a pink fitted sheet, mattress pad, and a crib bedding set!  It was a very cute lady bug crib set with light pink and lime green, which matches the room perfectly!  BUT............We already picked out the jungle themed bedding from BabiesRus, and I nicely told him that he was VERY SWEET to do that, but it wasn't what we exactly had in mind.  He thought she could have 2 bedding sets!  I very nicely explained to him that she will only need 1 bedding set because her whole room would be themed around that 1 set.

Ok, I felt horrible because he tried so hard, and he was so sweet to do that!  But, I shot him down and the next day I took the bedding back to Wal-Mart and got our money back.  Now, was that mean of me??  Maybe...but, it turned out to be a funny story to tell. :)

Happy Anniversary AND Happy Mother's Day!

One year ago today, May 8, 2010, Matt and I got married!  This year has gone by so fast!  It seems like only yesterday we were tying ribbon on the wedding invitations, going through rehearsal the Friday before the wedding, and then all of the events of that wonderful day.  We both were just talking about how everyone says the first year is the hardest, but it went by so fast and seemed pretty easy for us!  We'll just have to see what year 2 holds.  :)

This day is also special because it is Mother's Day!  We want to wish our mom's a very happy mother's day, as well as our grandmothers!  We love you all so much and appreciate everything you do for us.

Here are some pics of us from our wedding day, just one year ago!

So very happy, even today!

24 Weeks

Monday we went to the doctor for a routine check-up, and Dr. Case said that everything seems to be going perfectly!  She measured my belly and said that I measured right in between 24 and 25 weeks, which is right on track.

We ordered Hallie Grace's bed and Matt picked it up two nights ago.  Since we weren't too tired tonight, we decided to put it together.  It looks great!  Matt is so excited to have it up that he has ran out to Wal-Mart to buy a mattress!  :)

A project I've been working on is making a bow holder.  I've already purchased a few (actually more) bows from this website called Etsy.  I will be making bows myself for her, but they look so good online and I couldn't resist! I'm also adding pictures of a couple of our latest buys!

Thank you so much daddy!

Love it!

I glued scrapbook paper onto a block letter, and then hot glued ribbon around the edge.  It is going to go perfect with the theme of the room!  I'm doing the letters HGM because she is going to have tons of bows!

I will have to get the M done tonight or tomorrow sometime!  Then, I will add the ribbon to the bottom of each letter, and then add the bows!  Finished product coming soon!
I love that this toy chest has rollers because it will be easy to tote in and out of the living room.
